Crazy Hair Day

Last Friday was Crazy Hair Day at school.

Josh did Jeremy's hair and I did Amanda's.

Luckily the food coloring came out of their

hair a lot easier than it came off of our hands!

The kids had a lot of fun!

Wyoming Wildlife: Worth the Watching

Meet . . . His Majesty.

He is a young bald eagle that loves to hang out on my fence post. He has been a regular for the last three weeks.

I love to sit and watch him. He has such presence and authority. It is as if he knows he is extraordinary and rare.

I can see why America picked him as the symbol of our nation. He is tough when warranted but his beauty and grace dominate all those around him.

Bragging Rights!!!!!

This is a poem written by Jeremy (9 years old):

Orange

by Jeremy

The oranges of a pumpkin

Whisper in the night.

The oranges of the sun

Shine so bright.

Orange is like the moss

On the rocks at Fremont Lake.

Orange is like the scales of a

Goldfish shining in the light.

Orange is like the fruit

That is so great.

Just wanted to share, we are so proud of him!!

Today my son left the house for school and the last thing he said was, "You are the world's meanest mom!" Talk about kicking me right in my stomach. He stayed home sick from school yesterday and wanted to stay home again. The problem was he wasn't that sick yesterday. His throat was red and he was coughing and I think it was important for him to rest but two days in a row? I don't think it was warranted and so now I am sitting here still stinging from the blows I received. Do I always do the right thing, no! But am I the world's meanest mom, I hope the answer is no. I know part of this is payback from what I put my own mom through, I wasn't always made of sugar and spice. And I know that he will probably come home and give me a hug and tell me that he loves me but in the meantime I am left to wonder why we lash out at those closest to us when we are mad.

I guess I will chalk this one up to the joys of motherhood and comfort myself with the thought that someday he too will have children and they will think he is mean also!!!

I stumbled from my warm and cozy bed this morning feeling a little grumpy. I haven't felt well, it was way to early and the relentless wind was still blowing. I settled in for a good, long grumpy spell until I wandered into the living-room and glanced out the window. As my eyes took in the beautiful, vibrant colors softly flowing across the winter landscape my heart began to open and joy began flooding my senses. I could hear God's voice whispering, "Knock, knock. I'm right here, let Me in."

And I did.

Baby Steps

My New Year's Resolution is to be more outgoing! I tend to be quiet and blend into the background. So I am participating in a Circuit Training Class at the Recreation Center in town and so far I have learned three new peoples names and I talk to them at the grocery store. Baby steps I know, but I can't believe how a small act such as remembering someone's name brings so much joy to them and me. I guess what I am saying is that it's the little things that count!!!

Welcome to our Wyoming Adventure. Our story began in 1996 and has happily continued until the present. We have had our share of rocky places but love and laughter have overshadowed these miniscule trials by far. The rugged mountains outside our door remind us every day of God's grandness and His everlasting love. We are a simple people living a simple but very extraordinary life.
